Hi everyone,
Is there anyway to change the default URL for QMC from http://someIP/servername/qmc/Default.htm to http://[realdomainName]/admin ?
Thanks!
Gab
First of all the QMC listenes to port 4780 so the default url is http:/someip:4780/qmc
You can change the port by editing the C:\Program Files\QlikView\Management Service\QVManagementService.exe.config
line 45 - <!-- The port that the QMS frontend listens to (if not specified, port 4780 will be used) -->
line 46 - <add key="QMSFrontendWebServicePort" value="4780"/>
In de same directory you'll find the QMC directory, you can copy this folder and rename it to admin.
After this you'll have to manually change all url's within the files. and hope it works.
Then again every QV update will overwrite the files so maybe it's better to stick to default names, an forward port 80 in the router via NAT to port 4780. Then you can use the external url http://realdomainname/qmc
Type in servername:4780/qmc/SystemSetup.htm and the QMC will show up in your browser.
Hi,
I don't think so you can change it.
But if there is possibility, yes Bill Britt can help you out here.

Answered here: http://community.qlik.com/thread/124274 too!
yea i kind of double posted until i realized each post has to be reviewed before it gets posted.
Yes, putting a live URL in a post sends it to moderation, which may or may not take some time to process.
I still think it's easier and more maintaneable to setup a URL forwarding than modifying a bunch of QlikView files on the setup maintaining a non standard installation.
But still, it seems possible, yes
Not a native functionality still.
Hi,
This would be something that Qlik would not support.
