Changing license keys in QlikView server and Publisher (Using LEF licensing)

We are using temporary license keys provided by Qlik to migrate and upgrade our QlikView environments.   When we are ready to power down our old environments we will need to transfer the license keys, server and publisher, to the new servers.  Is there a best practice for this?  Or can we just apply the keys to the new servers?

Hi @J_Mulholland,

You are correct.  For non-clusterable QlikView Server licenses, only one server can be up and running with the QVS license applied.  When you are ready to start using your newly installed/migrated environment, power off the previous QVS environment first.  Then apply the license to the new environment to ensure the license isn't being used concurrently.

@J_Mulholland as long as the previous QVS environment is powered down first, you won't have to take any other actions to license your new environment.

thanks Chip.  so I don't need to worry about removing / renaming the LEF file or any other file that may contain license info before applying the new license keys?
