Hello!
We are preparing to upgrade a QV 11.20 SR 12 Server to QV 12.40 SR 4
We'd like to use the new TShared file format and I have read the articles about converting from one format to the other.
QVS.exe -x "TestApp.qvw.shared" -p
That works and creates a new file shared_clean
QVS.exe -x "TestApp.qvw.shared" -p -f same
QVS.exe -x "TestApp.qvw.shared" -p -f orig
Those do the same. The -p is necessary for the -f to do anything, right?
QVS.exe -x "TestApp.qvw.shared" -p -f tx
QVS.exe -x "TestApp.qvw.shared" -f tx
But this doesn't seem to do anything.
We are using the QVS.exe of the 11.20 SR 12 Server. According to https://support.qlik.com/articles/000003827 the TShared Format is support from 11.20 SR 4 onwards, so that shouldn't be the issue.
Any advice?
Hello!
Tshared files were introduced in November 2017, so 12.20: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/November2017/Content/Whats_New_in_QlikView.htm
If you are using an 11.20 QVS you will not be able to convert the files.
The Cleanup tool was introduced in 11.20 SR4. I will edit the article to clarify that the tsharded functionality is not available in all versions prior to November 2017 (12.20).

That explains it. Thanks for this update and that of the article
We'll use the QVS.exe of the new server to convert then
Thanks
Anytime!
