DSC service is down

Hi everyone,

I am facing a big problem : The DSC service is down (I'm not sure if this means Directory Service Connector or Distribution Service).

In QMC, I cannot schedule or reload any task anymore.

I tried to restart all the QV services but still have the problem...

I have check the log in C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log   and in the Root_20140926.txt, the end is "DSC Service is online."

Any ideas ?

DSC is the Directory Service Connector

QDS is the Distribution Service.

That means your  "Directory Service Connector" service is down.

'Distribution Service' in QlikView QMC is abbrivated as 'QDS'

I don't have Publisher. All the services I have are : DSC, QVW, QMS, QVS.

The error when I click on DSC in the service tab in QMC is "Failed to contact the service, NAmeofServer disconnected". the server is the same on which QMC is.

What I could I do ?

Connect to your QlikView server. Check for the qlikview services under..  Server Manager > Configurations > services.. And then restart the DSC service.

Looking at your screen shot, your services are running on different servers.

Are you able to ping from the QMS server to the DSC server? By name and ip address.

Is there a firewall between the servers, and if there is are the ports used by QlikView open?

Has this worked previously - if yes, what has changed causing the failure?

Has the network configuration / security changed?

You can restart the services as suggested by mayanak.Otherwise u can restart the server.

If this will not work better eay to raise call.

QVS and DSC are running on the same server and QVS is working. There also are on the server on which there is the QMC.

This morning, I tried to install QV Desktop on this server. I pasted the QV.exe and then I leased a licence from this server.  i think it's since then that it's not working anymore

Here is the error in system> setup... The DSC service in windows is started

I have already restarted services several times.

What is the URL for ?

I have read in another topic that someone changed the url and replaced the name of the server by "localhost"
