Distribute mails to different set of people for different tasks

  Is it possible to distribute mails to different set of people for different tasks?

Can you please give a little more information on what you are trying to do? What are you trying to email?

Imagine there are sales, marketing and finance teams. They all have different set of dashboards, we need to alert the respective teams onsuccess and onfailure of corresponding tasks.

No, you will not be able to do that. You can have it alert people on a document Distribution that the document has been update, but the alert for failure is a different list and there is no way to group that.
