Fail to open QV Documents after upgrade to 12.3 SR2 from 12.1

Hi,

We've just upgrade from QlikView Enterprise 12.1 SR3 to 12.3 SR2 (november 2018) and everything seemed to work fine until we realized that users could not open QV Docs.

Currently our users open QV Docs using links with the URL of documents like this:

http://<servername>/qlikview/login.htm?back=%2FQvAJAXZfc%2FAccessPoint.aspx%3Fopen%3D%26id%3DQVS%2540<servername>%257<doc_path>%26client%3DPlugin

Before upgrade users use Internet Explorer and Plug-In so, when a user clicked the link, internet Explorer will show the plug-in menu bars and the document will load normally. Our users are not using Access Point at all becase QV Docs are linked at their personalized web page. We use NT domain names to log in to QV  server.

Since 12.3 SR2 upgrade the users get the following information after clicking the link of QV Docs:

loggin.PNG

Users can't go further this page and QV Doc is never shown.

The only workaround we've found is to open Access Point  and ,once the user is identified by the server, if we click on the links of the QV Docs, internet explorer opens another tab in the same windows and the QV Doc is properly opened.

It seems that QV 12.3 upgrade has changed previous behaviour and avoids users to access QV Docs "outside Access Point" or maybe, we have something to configure on server...

Any help?

Thanks in advance

It's necessary to modify login.htm in order to use Internet Explorer to assure compatibility.

Thanks

My best guess to your problem would be that your end users or plugin is out of sync. When upgrading an QlikView environment the upgrade of end user IE plugins should be a part of that rollout plan.

Have you considered distributing the applications without IE plugin version an just use the Ajax version? It will keep you out of trouble with the client plugins.

Thanks Vegar

I'm afraid that's not it... If I try to open the links using AJAX client it behaves exactly the same.

Anyway users do have correct plug-in installed

I've just tried to open the link (ajax client) using chrome y it does work. This has to be related with Internet Explorer... may be some security configuration?
