How to authorise the variable overview?

Hi all,

I have 1 application that is used by 2 persons: 1 developer and 1 enduser. Both have a developer/desktop license.

The application is secured with section access: 1 with USER and 1 with ADMIN rights.

By doing this, i am able to disable a lot of functionalities for the enduser by deselecting the options in the document-->security and worksheet--> security tabs. However, i cannot find the option to hide the variable overview for the enduser. I dont want the enduser to read or edit the variables. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi.

I guess there is no such an option if you use qlikview standalone app.

You can try to replace the variables with the fields if its possible. It's suitable for most cases except simple value calculation.

The only option I can think of is to let end users to connect only with "open in server" option. This way, they won't be able to open the variable overview window,

If you use variables to store constant values, expressions as strings and so on.

Then you can try to use floating tables instead and store these values as fields.

Anyway, what is the reason to keep the variables hidden from the end user particularly in your case ?
