How to improve QlikView server performance

In terms of installing and managing QlikView Server on Windows Server, is there a way for administrators or users to use and manage it quickly?

For example, how to improve performance by splitting the service.

What could be improved in performance or other areas?

Please reply after checking.

Thanks & Regards.

On a single server there is nothing to split else the dividing of QlikView into several services is already the max. logic-split. I don't remember the install-guides very well but I think there were also instructions for installing QlikView on multiple servers.

AFAIK the installation itself isn't very difficult but the configuration afterwards that the QlikView services could communicate with each other properly may not so easy. It depends on firewall / group policy rules within your company in regard to your network including all kinds of proxies and load-balancer to web-protocols, ports, authentication, certificates, encryption and so on. It's mainly not QlikView specific else to the network administration knowledge in general and of course to the appropriate rights to administer all this stuff. I think you will need help from an experienced QlikView partner and an appropriate support from your internal IT.

Hi @qwebnm,

You can download the QlikView Server Installation Guide pdf.  It details installing QlikView Server both as single-node and multi-node environments.  There are also numerous tutorial videos on YouTube regarding QlikView Server installation.

The various services could be divided to own server and these servers might be even clustered from multiple machines. But this aren't things which could be quickly adjusted else it requires a carefully designed environment in regard to the communication between all server and services and the control of a load-balancer and further administrative things like the licencing. IMO you shouldn't go this way without an experienced partner.

Beside this it's quite easy to kill the biggest server-environment with poorly designed applications. Means revers you could handle quite large datasets in QlikView within a small environment by implementing well designed data-models and applications. Therefore I suggest to check at first all applications if they could be optimized. Often there is a lot of potential ...

About the single server you are currently using
If the service is partitioned and installed normally, will it have a good effect on performance?

Are there any guidelines for doing a split service installation on a single server?
Let me know if you have a manual too!

Please answer.
Thanks & Regards.

AFAIK INSTALLATION WHAT DOES THE INSTALLATION INSTALL?

If not a single server, how about a split service installation using two servers?

I'm sure other sites are using it as well.
please guide

Thanks & Regards.

It's just choosing a custom installation and then only installing the wanted services. More information how to start could you find within the Qlik help. More relevant as this is a well considered architecture - means you need to know in beforehand which amount of data and users with applications should be updated and provided on which server/cluster. Surely trial & error approaches are possible but IMO not really expedient. Therefore again my suggestion to look for an experienced partner.
