Investigating the value that publisher offers for my organisation ?

Hi,

  I need advice regarding QV server and publisher.

  My company is planning to buy a enterprice edition QV server in very soon..right now we are using SB Edition.

  They wanted to know if buying publisher was neccessary along with the server.

   If publisher is not neccessary then they would rather stick with server.

  Is publisher mandatory or server can be used for all the tasks ?

  And how helpful is the publisher ?

We are currently investigating the value that publisher offers so could you please extend your response  ,

Could you please explain the extra features and show examples of when publisher is required?

  Number of end users around 30 for now.. will go up in future.

  So is publisher neccessary.. need ur advice..

You can purchase QVS and Publisher independently and basic scheduling functionality is available with a QVS license.

Publisher is effective at providing reload and distribution functions.  If you have a large number of documents, complex organization, or the need for complex distribution, then Publisher is probably necessary.

Publisher is highly effective at creating reduced data sets for specific groups, emailing output, managing complex security configuration, alerting reload failures, and distributing documents to disparate locations.
