Hi all,
After leasing Licence,
-After making connection with server we are able to see all documents whatever present in access point.
My questions are
- How to open other documents on QV desktop those are present in another folders on server
(Eg workbook folder on server).
-After opening server document on local machine shall we able to make the changes in document. if so where will it be saved
-Moreover we have maintained other files such as Qvds in different different folder. After developing document on my desktop machine
Only by setting relative path will it work after making migration on server.
-In addition How to move document on server without making any changes in connection string.
Please help us out.
The File menu has two entries to open documents. Open will open documents directly and you can edit the files and save them. With Open in Server you open the document through the Qlikview Server. When opened this way you cannot save the changes on the server.
If you want to open files on a server directly the file system of the server needs the be exposed as a share. You can usually access such folders via a UNC path: \\MyServer\QlikviewDocs\MyQVApps.
Connection strings are usually to databases on database servers. Such connection strings don't need to change if you deploy a document on a Qlikview Server. Only connection strings to local files (for example ms-access files) need to be adapted. Or the files need to be transferred to the Qlikview Server too and placed in the same local path.

Once you open document It will be similar like you open from your access point.
All changes will be save in .shared files.
