Moving Qlikview Server 8.5 to new server. Can I register it with same serial number?

I need to reinstall Qlikview Server 8.5 to a new production server. The old server is being shut down. How does this work with the license?

Because I already used my serial number to register the install on my current server, I'm assuming I won't be able to register the second install.

What is the process I need to go through to move the license to the new server?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mriley123,

In my company we had the same situation like as yours and there isn't any problem for installing the new server with the same license number, but, you have to know that you can't keep both servers on the same net unless your license allow cluster.

Thanks for your reply Miguel.

Tech support was able to give me the simple solution. All I had to do was uninstall QVS on the old sever before installing it on the new one. When I did this, I was able to register QVS on the new server with no problem.
