Hi,
My account is in the local admin group and Qlik admin group of QlikView Server. While I was doing a test and didn't not grant myself access to a specific application, I could still see this application on Access Point. Is it because I am the "Admin" or "Qlik Admin"? Is there any document explaining this? Thanks!
If the user has file permissions but no CAL, they will see the thumbnail, then on clicking the thumbnail will either see a message that they have no CAL to access the document, or if automatic CAL allocation is enabled, and there are document or named CALs available, a call is allocated automatically.
Automatic allocation will allocate full CALs first, then if no full CALs are available, a named CAL will be allocated if there is an available pool for that app.
Maybe because that application has a Section Access that your user is not included
This is because you have distributed your application to all users, but not users can access to the application.
Regards!
Visibility of apps on the Access Point is controlled by file permissions.
If you have file permissions to read the QVW file, you will see the thumbnail on the Access Point regardless of whether you have a QlikView cal or doc cal that allow you to open the QVW.
I didn't use Section Access and I distributed to 2 other Named Users. I think Colin is right about file permissions. I am the local admin so I have full access to this folder, and I can see the thumbnail and open the file on Access Point. Is there any document addressing this file/folder permission feature? Thanks!
Hi Jessica,
Then, you are managing permissions by Windows. If a user enter on this folder, can open this app.
Regards!
Might be file has Section Access with hidden script. Please go through that, Because that is not possible to get an access...
Hi,
Do you have DMS or NTFS Authorization?
That leads to another question, I can see this QVW because I have Named CAL. What happens to a user with Windows folder permissions but no CAL?
NTFS
