QlikView 11.20 and a 2016 Domain Level

Hello,

We have a reasonably old QlikView environment running 11.20, and we are looking at upgrading our Windows Domain Level to 2016.

Could you advise whether QlikView services for 11.20 would be supported in a 2016 domain?

Many thanks,

Dayna

Hi @Dayna,

Yes version 11.20.12451 equates to 11.20 SR7. Note that 11.20 SR7 was released on June 2, 2014; well before the release of Windows Server 2016 on October 12, 2016. The earliest iteration of QV v11.20 that supported Windows Server 2016 is version 11.20 SR18. So I strongly suggest not attempting to install QV v11.20 SR7 on a Windows Server 2016 platform.

Hi @Dayna,

To answer your question, we'll need to know the full build version of your QlikView 11.20 implementation - i.e. 11.20 SR13.

Note that QlikView version 11.20 is long past its sunset date and is no longer supported (see article QlikView Product Lifecycle for details).  I strongly suggest that you upgrade to the most current release, 12.60 SR2 so that your environment is in compliance and can be supported.  Article A QlikView Upgrade Guide and QlikView online Help entry Upgrading and migrating QlikView Server from 11.20 to November 2017 or later should have all of the information you need to get started planning an upgrade.

Best Regards

Hello @Chip_Matejowsky

Many thanks for your response, yes I'm sadly aware that it's due a bit of an upgrade - something we're looking into!

As far as the build, within the management console it's build number 11.20.12451.0, we're running SR7 for the desktop application so I'll assume that the management console / server environment is the same build level.

Many thanks,

Dayna
