Thanks Mukesh,
I will keep those points in mind while doing the same.
That's quite a big jump.
Not sure if you can jump straight from 7 to 11, but you can find the details from 9 to 11 in the following thread http://community.qlik.com/message/635373#635373. Best talk to Qlik to check if you can jump straight to 11, or whether you'll need to use 9 as a jumping block.
hi,
1. u have to take the back of ur source applications & config.xml file
2. it won't possible to upgrade from qv 7 to qv 11,so u have to do in 2 steps--qv7 to qv9 & qv9 to qv11
what i suggest, after backup better to fresh install the new server with qv11.
Hi Shiva,
Is is possible directly from QV 7 to QV 11.
@Nitesh before migrate from QV7 to QV11 Please read Release notes
Hi Mukesh,
there are architecture changes so qlikview from 7 to 11..qlikview suggested as below, the below lines frm qlikv doc.

Upgrading from Version 8 to 11
Upgrading from QlikView Server version 8 to version 11 requires upgrading to version 9 prior to upgrading to version 11.
Note! QlikView Server cannot be upgraded directly from version 8 to version 11.
Upgrading from

hopes hleps..pls go through
This would depend on what features are being used, for example if Publisher is used, jumping straight from 7 to 11 might not be possible.
I would agree with Shiva in doing a fresh install and reconfigure the server.
But if that is not possible, I personally would recommend upgrading iteratively through the versions i.e. 7 > 7.52 > 8 > 9 > 11, this might seem slow and unwieldy process, but you are following a tried and tested path that works. (You'll need to talk to Qlik to get previous versions of the installation files.)
Upgrading from 7 straight to 11 is untested and is a "do at your own risk" activity, as the version 11 installer is only designed to upgrade from version 9+.
Hi All,
Thanks for all your suggestions, also I learnt that it is not possible to migrate directly from 7 to 11 and need to follow a long chain as suggested by Kwok Chong and Shiva Reddy .. First I need to go to QV9 and then to QV 11
