Hi,
I have a qlikview palteform 11 on a W2008 OS with a licence server . The name of server is srs2ro-vmpilote For some time these two services appears in red (status disconnected , Failed to contact the service).
I have an orange headband(banner) which indicates " Two or more services are down "
Having looked on the forum those errors, I modified in the Qlikview management console the URL of the two services in (system/setup/ ) by replacing the name of the machine by 'localhost' . I restart the computer . The services are now green but the banner indicates "Reload Engine@srs2ro-vmpilote is down'
I saw nothing convincing on the forum for this error. Somebody has an idea ?. Thank you
Hi,
There are some known issues with long machine names and QlikView services. I'd recommend you to log a case with support@qlik.com and in any case, rename the computer if possible to a smaller name, without any non alphabetic character. Localhost and the IP address will do, since there is no issue in resolving the name of the computer.
Hope that makes sense.
Miguel
Have you tried changing the QVS URL to localhost also? I can't remember where the ReloadEngine (in effect the Distribution Service) gets it's URL from when you don't have Publisher.
Hi,
I tried it but I have a message
"A cluster was added , please enter the control number"
But my licence is not a cluster licence anc I have no control number.
I don't try rename my server with alphabetics characrter because it's
difficut in my context.

Reload engine down
Hi
The bit in the message about Clustering is a red herring, it will always do this if you do anything to the QVS URL. (the reason why Clustering is mentioned is that normally you'd only modify this screen when adding nodes to a cluster).
You should have a Control Number that was supplied to you with your Licence Key.
Thanks
Dave
Good !
The renommage of the URL worked and I have no more the error message on
Scheduler.
One thank you

Reload engine down
Hi there,
Surprised to see this is still an issue in QV11.2. The server name was not long, but did contain two hyphens. Replacing with qvp://localhost/ in System / Setup resolved the issue.
Thanks Miguel!

Hi,
I have a scenario where my Server Name does not content non-alphabet character and the length of my Server Name also within 8 character, unfortunately, QVW Reload Failed and Reload Engine Down message are constantly happened.
Please advice.....
Regards,
Kho
I had the same issue yesterday, I think in my case was that my computer name has a space, but I haven't been able to rename it. However, it got fixed by rebooting and reentering user name and password in services
