I had the following error message appear several times in my QVS events log...
120 Error Server aborted trying to recover by restart. Reason for restart: Phoenix detected: Performance monitor stuck
Does anyone know what this is? The server restarted each time, but there wasn't any significant CPU or Memory load on the system at the time. The server is QVS v9 SR5 running on Windows Server 2008.
Any assistance is appreciated,
B
This used to be an issue back in 8.xx when we had the perfdll.dll file which provided hooks to load performance counters into the Microsoft Performance Monitor. About the only thing that comes to mind here is if you had the QEMC open to the Performance menu on the Status tab or something like that and left it open/running. What I would really recommend is you get a case opened with support on this one as soon as you can provide as much detail on the environment etc as you can to assist us in trying to replicate the issue.
Regards,
Brett
Would you happen to know if there is a work around for this error on QV 8.50? I have a number of sites that have gotten this error. Upgrading our verions of QV is in the works, but I wondered if there was something that could be done in the meantime.
Thanks - Karen
Hi there,
I am getting the same error message in the latest QV version (11 build 111154). Anyone else getting this error in QV11?

Hello,
I am getting the same error message in Qlikview 10 SR4. Below full description:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: QlikViewServer
EventCategory: None
EventID: 300
Date: 2/2/2012
Time: 9:50:39 AM
User: N/A
Computer: APP3-ENGELOGTEC
Description:
Restart: Server aborted trying to recover by restart. Reasonfor restart: Phoenix detected: Performance monitor stuck
Any idea?
Thanks in advance....
The Phoenix thread is just a thread that restarts the server if it fails to respond in a timely way. In other words - there can be different reasons that caused the server to hang in the first place. So, you may have this message for completely different reasons.
Is there someway to figure out why the server is hanging in the first place. What kind of QV logs should I start with?
The odd thing is that the QVS server is up an running when I go to services on the server, but QMC is saying that QVS is down.
I have just seen this in a QV10SR3 log :
Error Restart: Server aborted trying to recover by restart. Reason for restart: Phoenix detected: Performance monitor stuck
Again, no clues as to reasons or fix that may be required.
same for QVS 10 SR3:
Error Restart: Server aborted trying to recover by restart. Reason for restart: Phoenix detected: Performance monitor stuck
Any Solution??
