To allow access users placed on the segment Y.Y.Y.Y to QV reports generated by the QV server on a different segment X.X.X.X

Dear Friends,

The QlikView Server is placed on the network segment X.X.X.X.

What would be the best approach (from security, management, minimum infra changes, etc. points of view) to allow access users placed on the different segment Y.Y.Y.Y to reports generated by the server above?

Please advise.

Hi,

If you have QlikView Publisher, you have two main QVW folders: Source (back end, users do not have access to them) and Users (this one stores the QVW after being distributed by Publisher and they are accessible via the AccessPoint).

Grant your QlikView Server permissions to access a shared resource in the form \\SERVER\RESOURCE so Publisher can distribute files to that folder. That might require some NAT if both networks are not visible from each other or if the QlikView server computer cannot hold two NICs, one attached to each network.
