What is the point of clustering QlikView servers

Hi everyone,

I just recently setup a couple QlikView Clusters and I am curious as to what the point of clustering is, especially when it comes to redundancy. If you're using the same shared folder on all servers, if the origin point of that shared server goes does then you lose all the documents until that server is back up. I don't see how that's redundant when everything depends on one shared drive.

Can someone explain this to me? Or explain how I can make redundancy more effective?

Thanks!

Joe

If you´re clustering you should store your qvw under a NAS mapped folder acessible to all cluster servers

Then what if your NAS mapped folder goes down? I'm not super familiar with NAS, I take it it has redundancy in and of itself?

Well, NAS and SAN are reliable data disks.

You can buy as much redundancy you want (and afford) with several Raid Levels
