Who to provide the folder access right which is created in qlikview web folder

Hi Expert,

In Qlikview WEB folder (C:\Program Files\Qlikview\web), we had created some other folder, for example "xlview", where we keep all the required XL file to view.
And this XL files is called from the text object which is defined in the Qlikview Application(QVW).

Depends on the users access the object is get hide and unhide. So, when the object is unhide the text box URL link get active.

And on click of that object the user can view the XL and download the same file as well, which is stored on the Qlikview\web folder (C:\Program Files\Qlikview\web\xlview)

From Qlikview application with the help hide/unhide we can control the access.

But if the URL path(https://ananlyisdashboard.abc.com/xlview/ananlyis.xls) gets exposed. Then that that person can view/download the XL file which is confidential.

We want that thought Qlikview application can we implement the folder security access in "C:\Program Files\Qlikview\web\xlview" folder.
So, that even it gets exposed the person should not able to view/download the XL file except all those people to whom we had given the access rights to that folder.

Your quick response will be highly appreciable.

Thanks
Shantanu

Hi @shantanu73 , we don't recommend using QlikView's webserver to host other material than QlikView Server itself.
If you need those kind of features we recommend switching to a IIS-setup, where you'll be able to use all the power of Microsoft's webserver.

An alternatively to your approach could be to load these Excel into QlikView and then using section access to control which user has access to which data.
