Workbench connecting to QlikView Server on a different machine

I am interested in working with QlikView Workbench 9.0 and I have been trying to go through the examples. I have visual studio on my local pc and QlikView Server running on another machine. I keep getting errors saying that it cannot connect to my QlikView server when I try to bring in a data source.

Has anyone figured out how to do this and can provide some assistance?

Hi,

Have you configured your website so that it knows which machine QlikView Server is on (this is usually done via the web.config file)?

I defined my server in the web.config and in the properties of the data source

web.config =

<

QvsViewClientEx host="ServerName" port="4700" connectionMethod="dotnet"/>

data source properties = Qvshost ServerName

I am not getting a message on my datasource box saying "You are missing a license in QlikVIew server to use these components.

Is there a separate licensing piece that is required to use Workbench?

Yes, it is an add on to the QVS license, not a part of the standard license.
