access point after upgrade to 12.1

We installed QLIKVIEW 12 on new servers and we have problem in the access point.

There is a strange behavior in ACCESS POINT Some users log in and do not see any model even though they have permission. Other users are able to enter and see the models. Even though they have the same permissions.

we have the same modules today in 11.2 server and there the users see the modules in the access point (it the same permissions in the two servers)

we cant go live like this

someone had this problem before and know how to resolve it?

Hi Adiarnon,

Have you upgraded QV server also to version 12 ? Both QV desktop and server should be in same version to have the proper experience as per my knowledge.

Best Regards,
KC

HI,

YES we updated both.

but the problem is in the access point at the web

maybe its because of the temporary license?

May be the upgrade activity has overwritten the backup files and that might be creating the issue.

Have you tried reassigning the license to the users who are facing the issue ? Just remove and provide access back to them from QMC, if you have section access then do a reload as well.

When you mention that they have the same permissions, where are those configured?

QlikView allows for two types of Authorization methods. DMS and NTFS.

  • NTSF is the default settings, meaning that QlikView relies entirely on the Windows platform and file level access. That means, any access to the documents directly is configured not in QlikView, but on folder or file level where the actual .qvw are stored.  You may want to review how file access is set up.
  • DMS, on the other hand, allows for the configuration directly in the QlikView Management Console (you get an Authorization tab when configuring tasks for documents, and in the actual User Documents list).
  • A third option would be that you have Section Access configured in the document, though I would suspect that'd be identical between the two systems that you have.

The above options govern if users can see the documents when going to the AccessPoint.
