Access denied to a QVW created on an older version of QV

Hi,

i'm facing strange issue. Just moved from Qlikview 12.10.20000.0 SR2 to 12.30.20000.0 November 2018.

I'm unable to open files created in the previous version. Getting the attached error.Capture1.JPG

Any idea what i could setup in the older version to be able to open it in the November release?

I really don't want recreate all my dashboards in the latest QV unless absolutely necessary

I happened to get this issue so a restart and clearing the ram space did work for me.

You could probably try the same.

Thanks, but didn't really help. There seems to be some kind of compatibility issue between QV versions. But i can't figure out what it is.

Hi! Are you opening the document in the Desktop Client?
If so, this is sometimes caused by the antivirus. Can you make sure that C:\Users\Username\AppData\Romaing\QlikTech  is excluded from scanning?

Hi Daniele. Yes, i run it from the desktop client, but also have the same problem on the server. I disabled the AV completely, but still get the same message. Something in the old file version won't allow me to open it in the November release.

Also i wanted to at least export the layout of the dashboard and import it to the new version, but i don't see an import option in the menu. If i can export the layout, i'll just copy the script and recreate the few variables, that's not a huge amount of work.

Thank you so much, Albert. This looked exactly like my issue. I'm using only png and jpg images, but found out that the company template had an image in it that would pop up when clicked on a "Help" button and this caused the problem. Removed it and now i can open it just fine.
