Dear All,
In a .qvw we execute a batch file to move files from SharePoint to a local directory. This works fine when running the script with Qlik Desktop and being logged in as the QlikAdministrator account. The QlikAdministrator account is needed to get authorization to SharePoint.
When we try the same via scheduling in QMC, the script runs without any errors- but the batch files seems not to work anymore as no files were moved. I also added the destination-folder to the mounted folders in QMC, added the QlikAdministrator account to the document but no success so far. I assume that the QMC service is always using the QlikAdministrator account or do I have to specify this for each task/document somewhere? Could there be any other reason that the authorization rights dedicated to the QlikAdministrator account get lost on the way when executing via QMC?
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Have you created a "QlikView EDX" group? You need this to execute any EDX commands.
Refer to this guide for more info: Using EDX in QlikView 11
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your answer. Maybe I misunderstand the EDX concept - but is this not rather used when using a third-party ETL tool - so to manage some kind of interactivity between Qlik and another tool/process. I wonder if I need this as I just want to run a pretty simple straight forward .bat file.
Kind Regards
Daniel
Ahhh - I misunderstood you then. I believe there is a setting in the QMC to allow execution of batch files on the server. I don't remember exactly where it is, but make sure that is checked. You also need to make sure the two servers can talk to each other (depends on your environment), which can also cause your problem.
I just realized, that I confused the Admin with the Service-Account. Nevertheless after granting access to SharePoint for the Service account and a server restart, it still doesn't work
Hi Daniel, have you tried running the batch file using supporting task from QMC ?
Hi Abhijit, Where do I find supporting task?
I think I need Publisher for doing supported tasks
M not sure if Supporting tasks need publisher but I believe it does not need so.
Go to the System tab in QMC there you will find 4th sub tab as "Supporting Tasks"
