Hi,
We have a "problem" with Internet Explorer, and that is - it seems as if IE has build in timeout of 1 minute.
Since a computation on server lasts more than 1 minute, the IE breaks connection to server, and the results are not delieverd to an end-user.
We tested this with other browsers as well - and the results ARE being delivered.
Since IE is a default browser in our company, we are trying to find a way how to increase a timeout in IE.
In "Internet Options" we haven't find this setting. Furthermore, we have also found similar settings on Server (QV). After changing this parameters, we have established that they do not change the timeout.
Did anyone previously have this problem? Can you please help me resolve it?
UPDATE: ok - it seems we have the same problem with Google Chrome. - so I changed the title.
Thanks!
D.
Hi,
Did you try to set timeout setting specified in the images below.

ASHFAQ
thx for the answer.
I have 2 questions in regard to them:
1) since we have established that it all functions as it should when we are using other browser (such as Google Chrome), how will the settings on server effect Internet Explorer
2) if I apply the suggested settings, do I have to restart all QV Services`?

D.
UPDATE: ok - it seems we have the same problem with Google Chrome.
I can't find the settings in the second picture inside Console. Where are they located?
Hi,
1) What version of Qlikview you use?
2) you need not to restart server.

Hi,
What the behaviour of IE after the timeout? Have you a message like "Lost connection to the server. Reconnecting..."?
Regards,
Vincent
Version is QV 11.20.12354.0 SR6
Exactly that is the message I am getting: Lost connection to the server. Reconnecting..."?
Hi,
What I can see here is with SR6 you need to have IE 11.
There could be many things I can think of
1) It could be your network issue.
2) Same ID is used by two different people at the same time
3) Do you have Section access?
4) go to Settings--> Document Properties --> Server --> Find the "Maximum Inactive Session" Make sure that the value is fare enough.
5) lastly try by increasing timeout session here in the below path
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\QvWebServer\config.xml contains a line <QvsTimeout>60</QvsTimeout>

As Ashfaq said, are you sure that you are not sharing the same login with different users?
Or, have you build a cluster with a load balancer at the top? We add the same issue because the load balancer was sending people on different front end servers during the same session.

Vincent
- I do not have Section Access in this app
- point 4: where do I find Settings?
- point 5: I can find this: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech however this part I cannot find: QvWebServer\config.xml
