Calender/Slider Rule

Hi Guys,

Can anyone guide me how to use a calender slider rule,please.

I have a field (FaultNoofMins) containing values 0 - 1000 say. I want to consider values 0-10 on the slider.

I have declared a variable (vFaultNoofMins) and assigned it to this field. To test it,I took a text object and put an expression saying =$(vFaultNoOfMins), just to see the value it considers when I move the slider.This works and matches the values on the slider.

However,the data pertaining to the field FaultNoOfMins,doesnt populate. In other words,the Field(FieldNoOfMins) value is getting selected from the slider,but doesnt populate its relevant data. But from the field when I select the same value,it shows me the relevant data.

Please suggest.

have you passed this variable in your tables or charts expressions?

and when you select FieldNoOfMins in slider,your  FieldNoOfMins got selected the same field in your list box...

No I havent passed it through any of my objects. I thought there was a single generic feature in Calender Slide Rule that enables this.

Please tell me how to do this.

hi

can you post your expressions here, that you are using to populate your data.

in case of variable you have to tell the expressions, that like Year = $(vYear)

But i suggest you to use Field instead of variable in your slider object.

in slider properties>> data >> select Field >> FieldNoOfMins.

then change the value in slider, and see the result.

I have 6 charts to be displayed on basis of this.And in the slider properties,I have done what you have mentioned,I am still facing the issue.

i am attaching an example for you to look at....

on Variable and What-If Example see the Slider using Field Year, change and see the Down Table Changing Values.with exchange Rate Variable..
