Can you apply set analysis over a dimension?

If I had the dimension Fruit which contained Apple, Orange, and Bananna, and I wrote an expression using set analysis, would the values across those 3 sections of my graph be the same? I thought I read that set analysis isn't able to calculate different values across a dimension.
