On the Expressions tab, you have Display Options for each expression. Bar and Line are options. Set them as desired. Stacked on the Style tab should then work fine for what you've defined as bars.

Thankyou John.. 🙂

I am facing another issue .. i need to set the line in the combo chart showing the median of stacked chart ..

for eg : we have different department and no of students for consecutive 3 yr as the stacked value in the bars. here i want the line to depict the average or the median value for each yr ..

Hmmm, it looks like you can EITHER stack the bars OR have a line, but not have both. That's annoying. I could SWEAR I've done this before, though, and without layering two charts. Yes, I'm looking at an example right now. What am I doing differently?

Ah! I made separate expressions for each bar in the stack. So here's one approach that appears to work. I'm not sure if I have this exactly how you want it, but hopefully it's close enough.

Might as well include the layering approach as well, since neither is strictly superior in all cases.
