Connection String

Hi

In my team we have two developers.

Lets say developer1 and developer2.

Developer1 has created database connection string using ODBC.

My question is now can developer2 use that same connection string to fetch data from database?

Thanks,

Villyee

Make sure the same ODBC connection is available on the machine that developer2 uses. When that's the case you can simply copy the connections string into the qlikview document of the other developer.

As with most things, it depends. Did developer use "Single Sign-On" option when creating the connection? In this case Qlik will pass the AD credentials to the destination database so developer 2 will need to be able to access the database. Alternatively if developer1 used a service account which has access to the database and then it doesn't matter whether or not the developers have access to the database the connection will work for either developer. If you use a service account you run the risk of not being able to audit exactly who did what as the account is shared.
