Cool new method - not yet tried. Can it work?

Hi,

I'm just working with a colleague at a chart where we need three formulas, with each one depending in several ways on the one before. That got me thinking (and I'd like to hear your opinion on whether this can work):

- The chart is a straight_table_chart

- In several others, I have a column (dimension or formula) that is not displayed.

- I know that in a chart, one formula can contain the name of one before (or above) and so refer the result.

=> Wouldn't it be possible to go about complicated things the "primary school way" and work with "inbetween_results"?

==> One could, depending on the first formula, calculate two or three factors which are influenced by it
and which are in turn relevant for the next formula to come

==> These could be suppressed (not displayed) and still referred to by name in the next formula

===>>> That would make the whole thing much easier to handle

I just haven't tested that method yet.

So what's your opinion on this? Could this work?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Well, it does work.

I have built a small sample_app which I will upload here (the texts are in German, though).
