Has anyone noticed if you need to have a specific type of data model to be able to do data reduction with section access?
I am not able to do data reduction on any field within the data model I have, but if I create an inline-table that is not connected to the data model, it is possible to do reduction on a field in that table.
Hello Lars,
To reducing on your section access you only need to add to the ACCESS, USERID and PASSWORD (or those related to domain or serial , if any) any other field already existing in your load script and assign it with a value. Say you want to reduce data for those users who have sales in a given table (EmpID). You will have ACCESS, USERID, PASSWORD, EmpID in your section access then.
Then, you need to check the "Strict Exclusion" option in your document properties, "On Open".
Make sure you backup your file before reloading with section access, as it may fail and will prevent any access to the document.
Hope that helps.
Forget this one. It was a simple num/text formatting problem
