Hi All,
While trying to save changes to a .qvw document my PC ran out virtual memory and the message 'this file has not been saved' popped up.
On closing the qvw I found that not only had the changes not been saved but the original document had been deleted from my network drive.
I had a backup copy, but still, a bit alarming.
I'm guessing the start of the save process deletes the original file then tries to save the in memory document but fails leaving...nothing.
Is this how it works (Qlikview v9 SR5) ? - anything I can do to prevent this sort of behaviour ?

Thanks Martina,
I've set the 'Use Backup' - 'Keep Last n instances' to keep the last 1 instance, which it names 'Version n of 'Document Name'' on the network drive,

After losing a few files this way, my defence is to use "Save As" if a regular "Save" fails.
Is there any way to get it back?
Was not possible in my case. Check you Recycle Bin, maybe you're more lucky.
Anyone found a solution to restore a file when this happens? Just happend to me 😕
Cheers
