Dear All,
Currently I have been facing this issue in chart type - straight table in which I have two dimensions, Business Name and Business Location; so under Business Location -> when select Largest 10 Business (say) , the data comes perfectly fine. And when further I select show others, it throws error 'Allocated memory exceeded.'
please help as I have to solve it asap, have been trying to do it without using dimension limits but failed.
Thanks,
Deepti
Can someone please explain why this error comes in general?
Dear,
Which version of Qlikview you are using?
if you are using previous version then try to upgrade to latest version.
and some times we will get these type of error due to complex calculations in the chart.
and Instead of dimension limit try to use Rank function in expression.
Thanks,
Mukram
How much ram do you have?.
If possible try to share sample to replicate issue.
Can you let us know what version of Qlik (with built number) you use.
Is your os 32 bit?

This error comes, when data set to be shown get more than the limit depending upon your hardware settings.
Try to use this in Pivot Table first
otherwise, make some selections and then see if the straight table still throws same error. If it does, then will need to see the expression being used.
Thanks,
Singh
Hi,
Select any values like month, date and select show others, if you are not getting the same error then clearly it is a memory issues, you need to increase the RAM. If you have any server with high configuration check in that machine, definitely you will not get this error.
Hope this helps you.
Regards,
Jagan.
Hi Mukram,
I am using version 11 SR2 of qlikview on 32 Bit machine with 4 GB RAM
I can try rank function but how to implement "show others" feature using rank function?? Please let me know if it is possible to display show others in next row.
Thanks,
Deepti
Its 32 Bit Ram - qlikview version 11.00.11414.0 SR2
Cannot share you the sample as it is on client location.
Thanks,
Deepti
Its clearly ram issue.
Go with 64 bit installer with 64 bit os and increase more ram if possible.

Jagan,
Its a desktop machine (not a server) with Ram 4GB (usable 3.5) and when I watch perfmon and task manager, it shows on 1.75GB memory is being held by qlikview.
Please suggest.
Thanks,
Deepti
