ExportBitmapToFile from a Task Schedule wrong resolution

Hi All

I'm hoping someone has experienced the same issue as I'm currently having and has found a suggested solution to my problem.

I've got a Videowall which displays stats to the sales floor on a daily basis. I use Qlikview to export sheet images as bitmap files to a folder which then the Videowall can pickup and rotate through the different images.

To automate this, I have setup a virtual PC which runs on Windows 7 Enterprise. This PC has a task schedule (via Control Panel>Administartive Tools) which runs a vbs script which opens up the qlikview application, and for each sheet it 'ExportBitmapToFile' to the folder location.

This works perfectly whe I'm logged into the Virtual PC. It appaers when I log in, the screen resolution the Virtual PC takes is my current monitor resolution which is 1680 x 1050. The Qlikview app in maximised mode, the visible part of the sheet is perfect for the image capture (as it appears the ExportBitmapToFile only takes the 'visible' area of the Qlikview page, not the entire sheet).

My issue is that I'm trying to automate it so the box can run independently without me logged in so it can run at 7am in the morning. However my issue is when the task runs without me logged in the screen capture is around only a quarter of the image as it appaers the default resolutions that the task runs when I'm not logged in is 800 x 600. FYI, the app is maximised as I've managed to ensure it does open maximised, so it's not this that's the issue, it's the native resolution when I'm not logged in.

Has anyone any ideas how I can get around this. Is there a way to export the fll sheet, not just the visible part?

Let me know if you need anymore info.

My thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Derek

Hello

Did you every find an answer to this problem?

I have almost exactly the same issue (for wallboards).

I believe there is a parameter called ExportBitmapResolution, but I don't know how it is controlled.

Hi Richard

I'm afraid I've not found a solution. My workaround is I have a decicated PC running full time hooked up to a monitor which is at the correct resolution.

Kind regards

Ah - that's a shame.

Seems it should be possible if you know enough about VB

I was hoping to avoid a dedicated QV licence on a PC which will be displaying a dashboard that only changes once a day !

I'll let you know if I make any progress.

Hi David

I now use Nprint to do this work. Not sure if you've used Nprint, but you can generate 'Qlikview Entity Reports' which can basically take a whole worksheet image. It also has the benefits of being able to apply selections and re-image so I've now been able to reuse worksheets i.e. Same Videowall statistic but for different selections which I can now do for the different videowalls for different teams/departments.

Hope this helps.

Hi Derek,

Thank you for your very quick response.

I’ve not used NPrint, but I have heard good things about it. I’ll have a look at it.

Cheers,

David
