HOW to create Chart Gallery

Dear All,

I am new to Qlikview. and I need to generate Chart Gallery in terms columns by rows arrangement

For example: 5 x 5 gallery view for a series of parameters.

Attached is the sample of my intended output.

Please help to advice.

Hi Ski,

If there is an over-riding Dimension across all of these charts and they all use the same fields and calculations in the Expression then a Trellis chart could work.

For example, if I had 4 hospitals in my region and produced a chart showing number of admissions by financial year, my chart would show this aggregated for all 4 hospitals.  if I then turn on Trellis (in the Dimensions tab) and add a dimension of Hospital, I will get 4 charts displayed.  The main limitation that I've found with Trellis charts is that the same scaling is applied across all charts, so in your instance where the Y-Axis values are different for each chart, they will all be the same.  This has the effect of flattening out charts where the activity count is lower than the others.

Since all your charts use different Y-dimensions (CP3_BIN10, CP3_BIN11, etc.) AND your counts create different max X-axis points a trellis won't work. I think you'll need to create each chart separately, then align them so they look as you want. Also in your case, creating one chart, formatting it the way you like and copying it then changing the dimension will keep everything looking the same.

Hi John,

If I get you correctly. I have to generate each chart seperately. I am afraid it won't works, because I have a scheduling which kept generate data with the same table format, BUT the number of CP parameters are varies over the time. So, it needs to be dynamically handling that.

For example: just imagine if I have 100 parameters, I will have to do it 100 times, manually or hard coded them.

Hi John,

I tried after several attempt using Trellis, it looks ok and working. One issue that I found out was that...it is very hard to control the sorting order for each chart when Trellis is turn-on. For example:

Trellis chart gallery setting 3 x 3 combination, and I prefered sorting order from highest count to lowest count order per chart. In this case, we come to know that, some other chart might be having different order in terms of x-axis items. I confirmed that it won't work even if I set the order by Descending.
