Help with linking data from 2 excel files

Hello all,

I'm new to this so please bear with me.  I hope I can express this issue clearly enough to get some help.

I have 2 excel files (I've simplified this somewhat but I hope you get the gist)

file1 contains a RefNum column and a Stage column (RefNum values are unique in this file)

RefNum	Stage
SLTN0000001234	Design
SLTN0000001235	Build
SLTN0000001236	Build
SLTN0000001237	Live

file2 contains a RefNum column and a version column (RefNum values may have multiples in this file)

RefNum	Version
SLTN0000001234	ver1
SLTN0000001234	ver1
SLTN0000001235	ver1
SLTN0000001235	ver2
SLTN0000001235	ver2
SLTN0000001236	ver3
SLTN0000001237	ver1
SLTN0000001237	ver3

What I need to do is be able to show something like this in Qlikview be it in a chart or a table or whatever.

Version	Design	Build	Live
ver1	2	1	1
ver2	0	2	0
ver3	0	1	1

I can probably do this in Excel but I'm trying to avoid manipulating excel data and need to be able to do this in QV.

Any ideas?

Please load the tables & create a Pivot table. Please find the attached qvw reference.
