How i change the background and font color of dimension in straight table. And also how can i change the background and font color of header text in the table.
Thanks,
Boppy
Hi,
in a straight table you have only the option of Design in properties!
Hi,
Thankq..den how can we do dis in table box.
This is actually possible (at least partially) in a Straight Table:
Simply go: Settings > User Properties > Design > Check the 'Always Show Design Menu Items' box.
Now simply right-click on the dimension back-ground and you'll see a new option in the menu 'Custom Format Cell' - click this and away you go!.
I'm running v9 SR6 so the method of access may differ,
Hope that helps,

go to the chart dimension .
click on the + sign , you will see background color, Text format etc.
Click on edit ,, and write the font u want , say i want to make it bold i will say TextFormat as '<b>'
Thanq.I did as u said i got custom format cell in straight table properties. I changed the bg color of all dimensions. But, wt u said is not working i'm using qlikview 10 version.
It's working with table box..
Hi,
you can only change colors in charts. So enter a new chart as table or pivot, then you find in dimensions and expression the +-sign to change bg and text color and text format. You can now use if-then-else statements for creating nice colors.
Another possibility is to enter Design grid then right click and Custom Format Cell, here you have to go to the dimension or expression you want to change color. This is also possible in straight tables.
Hi,
disregarding the specific issue with colors, I'd strongly discourage anyone from using Table Boxes - it's a terrible object, from the performance standpoint. Anything you can do with the Table Box, can be done better with a Straight Table Chart (with a hidden dummy expression). Straight Table Charts manage memory much better than a Table Box, and your formatting options are much better.
The only reason the Table box exists, is to maintain backward compatibility with earlier versions...
My advise is to switch to a chart and not worry about finding the same solution for a Table Box...
Good morning, I would need to change the color of a cell in a Straight Table, or Table Box using a macro.
Basically I have to compare the name of two fields in different tables but those tables are not related each other so thats why Im usign a macro.
Any help please?
Thanks a lot!
