How to let user to access only his /her Document but not others. PLEASE HELP AS THIS IS PRIORITY for me

Hi,

I have NTFS instead of DMS. I created Documents CaLs to the qvw dashboards whihc users can able to access. But the users can able to see all the documents whihc are not related to them. I don't want this to apply. I want to give access to the user to access only his/her document to see not the others. Could anyone help me with step by step process how to do this please.

I don't want to have section access without section access is there any other way to do this.

will it work if I go ---->properties---->security--->

Please help me.

Thanks and I have only usernames and don't have userids for all users who are using access point.

Could I know how Authenticated users access the documents without username and password?

If the document don't have any kind of section access then in QV11 , all the user who can access the folder or can open the Accesspoint , Will be able to view the report. To avoid this you need to either implement the section access or remove the authinticated user from list.

Note:- Before removing ensure that you have al the permision to do so. As if something will go worng (by any mean) you can revert back to original.

Also, if you put the username instead of User ID it will find the responsible person once you click ADD button. So having UserID or UserName doesnot matter much.

Let me know if you are not clear with the explanation or have any query.

Thanks and I don't have access to remove Authenticated User. So, I add Username and deny permissions for that user. will it create any problem to the file or to any pgo fileswith what I did now?please let me know.

No It won't create any Problem .

Only your work will be more as every time time you need to add the username , if any new user account will be created.

ok thanks and this morning I couldn't able to login access point. we are using Internet Explorer plugin

Security setting Doesnot have to do anything with Opening of Qlikview Accesspoint. It's completly dependent on QlikView Web services and Firewall of server.

Thanks and can you please tell me how can I check this issue because I can't able to open now also even I contact one of the users also they also can't open access point. If this issue happens to whom I need to contact?

If you are running the Qlikview services through your account then go to run-> Type Services.msc and check the Qlikview server and Qlikview web Server services .

If you are not have access of these then contact your Qlikview Admin team , who ot responsible to configure your services and Access poin.

Thanks and I checked in RDP by giving services.msc and the Qlikview server and Qlikview web Server services are in Started status. I don't have access to these services to start or stop. Just having access to see by typing services.msc

I don't have any Qlikview Admin team. what excatly it means is it do I need to contact Vendor?

Check by whome account it is running (try to communicated by any other person of your tea regading this ) if not able to find then yes you need to contact vendor.
