Hi,
I have six qvw applications in access point and for three appliactions I assigned Document CALS i,e
sales.qvw - 1 Document CAL for eg: Username XX
Accounts.qvw - 1 Document CAL for eg: Username YY
Crest.qvw - 1 Document CAL for eg: Username ZZ
But when the user XX is logging through access point he is seeing all the three applications(Sales.qvw,Accounts.qvw,Crest.qvw) instead of Sales.qvw. The same case with all the three users.
Could anyone tell me how I can restrict the users to see only the documents which are assigned to them.
FYI I have NTFS authorisation and Qlikview Server there is no QLikview Publisher. Right now we are not using any Section Access.
Could anyone help me with step by step so that would be more appreciate.
Thanks.
By setting NTFS permissions on the qvw documents you can restrict access to them. Users will still see all the documents in the access point unless you move them to separate subfolders and set NTFS permissions on the subfolders.
Could you please explain a bit more as I have all the documents in Root Folder and is there any way to set in properties for each and every document as I have all these three users added already in Users under Computer Manage
Thanks.
Create document directories somewhere (*). Place your qvw documents in the different directories. Set NTFS permissions so only the users that should be able to see a certain document has access to the directory that contains the document. Then add the directories as mounted folders in the QMC.
(*) This doesn't have to be under your root directory. In fact there are advantages to create them elsewhere. See this post.
Hi Amelia,
Implementing session access will help you to restrict users to see only reports meant for them on Access point. You will find many posts on implementation of session access.
Introduction to Section Access
After implementing session access in your QVW, you will have to enable "Filter Access point List Based on Session Access" option in the
Document Properties -> Server tab.

Hi Amelia,
If you are using QlikView 11 and "DMS Authorization" you will find an Authorization tab for each document on the QMC / Documents section. In that tab you are able to select the users who are authorized to see/access the documents.
Kind Regards,
Cesar
Hi,
I have one root folder. In that Root folder all my six documents along with .pgo files are there. And I have one mounted folder which contains all the extract and transformation loader files fro these six documents.i,e
for eg: The Mounted folder name is LOADER which contains Sales-Loader.qvw,Accounts-Loader.qvw ,Crest-Loader.qvw,Employees-Loader.qvw,Department-Loader.qvw,Region-Loader.qvw
The Root Folder name is QVDocuments Live which contains Sales.qvw,Accounts.qvw,Crest.qvw,Employees.qvw,Department.qvw,Region.qvw
In this case how could I create sub folders. Please could you let me know as I am confusing here and I don't have much expereince in QV server side.
Thanks.
Thanks Cesar.
I have Qliview 11 but "NTFS Authorisation". could you tell me how to do it.
