How to upgrade to QV Server from QV 11 to QV 12

Hi Guys,

I have a SMB License and I have installed QV11 on the server and my local machine.

What is the usual upgrade process?

1. Do I have to uninstall QV11 from server in order to upgrade?

2. Would all my applications created in QV11 will work fine?

Although I would suggest doing a backup of your server first, you will not need to uninstall but can just run the install right away.

All your applications created in QV11 using standard functionality should work fine, though macros and extensions might no longer work.

All my apps are created using standard functionality and nothing much complex. I am not using any macros but using some extenssions like 'Center Align' and custom fonts.

I will give it a go tonight.

Do I also have to upgrade QV management console ?

Hi Lokesh,

that's done as part of the server install, you may want to upgrade any copy of QV Desktop you may have on the server too!
