How would you create a variable such that it contained a list of dimensions?

Say I've got dimensions A,B,C instead of creating a 3 graphs for each dimension would it be possible to create a dimension/variable so that it would contain A,B,C and thus only having to create one graph?

Do you mean a drill down or cyclic dimension for A,B, and C?

Drill down.

As Jonathan says, groups would work for you, have a look under document properties for the groups tabs and create a new cycle or drill down group for your 3 dimensions and then add this group to your chart.

Dear Haryharan,

Kindly use Drill-Down Group or Cyclic Group.

Here is the way,

Chart Property > Tab "Dimensions" > Button "Edit Group" > Button "New" > Select Radio Box "Drill-down group" or "Cyclic Group" > Assign Group Name > Add "Available Fields" > OK > OK > OK.

In final, add group name in your chart dimension.

Kind regards,

Ishfaque Ahmed

On your Chart Properties Dimensions tab :

  • Right click <Edit Groups>
  • Create a Group comprising your 3 dimensions
  • Add this Group you have just created as a dimension to the Chart.

You can create a Drilldown or cyclic dimension group in qlikview.

You can try CTRL+Alt+D  which ioens up Document Properties.

Click on Groups Tab and on Groups section you can Create New Group of Dimensions.

This Group you create can now be used as Dimension in your charts
