Inconsistent Data between Access Point and Development

I am experiencing a strange issue between the Access Point ajax client and my QV development environment. It seems a data inconsistency between the two platforms. I have yet to find a reason why this is happening so I have posted it to get more eyes on it.

I develop on the same server QV Server/Access Point is on. Data reduction and section access is used on this document. All the below examples are shown using the same user.

It seems when the user logs into Access Point using any of clients (Ajax, IE, Java) drills down into 2010 he is able to accurately see the correct numbers for booked and sales. Then when the user makes a month selection 'December 09' to show just order in the month. The order then moves from being booked on the 17th and the 23th. This same behavior does not occur on the server/development side.

This does not appear to be a bug within QV but it also does not make sense why the data would be accurate in the QV Developer but not on the web client(s). The data should be exactly the same between the developer and the web client. I understand if the layout/graphics are a bit different but the numbers can not change or be inaccurate.

If you need more information or screen shots let me know. Thanks for any help or advice on this matter.

Hi Jake,

It's the QV Service user that is loading the data into the qvw, you need to ensure the service user is included in you section access details as admin and full access to all the required data. If not, then not all of your data will be loaded.

Hi Friends,

I have faced similar issue after doing some R&D, I resolved my issue

We can resolve this by two ways.

1. You can delete the .shared file.

                         Or

2. You can create a copy of that object & delete the old object, so your object id will change.

You should try the 2nd way first because in the 1st you will loose all the user bookmark & their created objects.

Go to internet options in your IE setting, under general tab click on setting (bottom right), browse to Caches and databases tab and uncheck Allow website caches and databases. Once done click ok, and then OK again. Close the browser window, and try and access the document. I believe that should do the trick.

It doesn't make sense that the user has to set some options locally to see correct data. Reduction  of data is out of the users control so this has to be something else.

Hi, Do you have the checkbox Strixt exclusion, because if not and there is not "hit" in the section access table the user will be able to see everything. Also if you have * on a dimension in the section access table and haven't specified that dimension in the table it won't work either. When it comes to why the user gets another date than you do you could try to delete the .Shared file. But doing that will also delete all the users bookmarks and created objects so do that with caution. There is also a small program Shared File Viewer that "cleans" .Shared files. Link below. https://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-3059 Cheers!

Hi,

Did anyone find a solution to this issue?

Has anyone raised the issue with Qlik support? I did raise the issue with Qlik support and they have been clueless with respect to the issue and have time and again asked us to help them in replicating the issue. This issue happens abruptly and when we reload the full data then it disappears. I am facing the same issue wherein the data on accesspoint goes for a toss whereas it appears correctly in the .qvw file when checked from Qlikview desktop.

I did discuss it with Qlik support, telling them that this is a common issue and the forum has complaints from many customer regarding this behaviour however they have claimed that the issue raised by us has not been reported by any customer yet with the Qlik support.

Would appreciate if someone has a concrete solution to this issue. Restarting the services, deleting the .shared files all these seem to be a temporary fix and not a permanent solution.

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Harshraj Sanghvi

Hi,

we faced the same issue.

After contact with qlik support we found that there existed an inconsistent deployment of

QV plugin versions within the companie's PCs using QV plugin.

You will find the info when analyzing the Event LOGS!

there you will find infos which user is using which version of the "Client build number" of the plugin.

there should not be different Versions.
