I would like to create a report that shows the performance of an ad, (Performance = Clicks)
The logic should be to include only Clicks of ads that ended on the selected time frame,
but, since an ads can be reposted twice or more, I would like to present only Clicks happend on the relavent posting (this is the reason I am posting this discussion)
Example:
If we look on a simplified data model:
on July, ad Number 123 was posted and expired,
the clicks it achieved are 10 on the 20th and 15 on the 21th,
Therefor, the application should show clicks made only between the range of the relavent posting
The Dashboard:
please note that the user only select the expiration date e.g. July-2015

I'm trying to apply your suggested solution now,
since my data model is a bit copmlex it causes some duplications,
with a little more effort - I will get there (I will keep you posted).
Basically, I can think of many places where this kind of solution is needed,
espacially in the online advertisment industry, where ads are posted for repeating periods,
and we want to have KPI's that measure the succes of each posting period,
For example, this solution is a must if you want to take an ad that posted online, and count only traffic that falls into the range of a spcific period.
