Linking the sort order of a table and chart

Hi,

I have a table and chart, both displaying the same data. I would like the sort order in the chart to reflect any changes to the sort order made on the table.

As I cannot see an obvious way of linking the two objects I have thought about capturing the table sort order information in a macro and applying it to the chart. However, whereas you can sort a table by the dimensions or expressions, only the dimensions are available in the chart object.

Is there a way of achieving this?

Hi

Why you don't create only one chart and choose the option Fast Type Change (allowed type Bar Chart & Straight Table for instance)

Hi JJ,

I thought of that too. However if I make changes to the sort order of the straight table these are not reflected in the chart when I 'fast change' to the bar chart. The two seem to operate independently - in the same way as if I had cloned a table then converted it to a chart.
