Listbox Filter in Qlikview

Need to create 2 filters with Hierarchy. Region-Country. When Region is selected say APAC, underlying countries will be listed in the Country with White background. Countries which are not associated with APAC will be grayed out.

Assume APAC region is selected which has 5 countries (India, China, Srilanka, Japan, Singapore). Need to clarify on 2 things.

1.) If India is selected in the country, the remaining 4 countries are grayed out. It acts as new filter select. This becomes difficult is identifying the remaining countries for APAC group. The user has to clear all to view the APAC countries.

Even if 1 country under APAC region is selected, can we show the remaining 4 countries(not grayed out) ?

2.) If the grayed out country US(which is not part of APAC region) is selected, we are still able to select US as country and the region selection from APAC is removed and North America will be highlighted.

Can we make the grayed out fields as disabled which could not be selected.?

hi

for your first question

in the listbox of country field

in the general tab check the box show alternatives as in the picture below

Untitled.png

then in the list box all other countries in the region will be colored in yellow as in the picture below

Untitled.png

as for your second question , i wouldn't have do it , because then you take Qlik the big advantage of allow user to explore data from his desired starting point and not a predefined one
