Lost Connection to Server. Reconnecting

Hello,

We are facing lot of issues with QV Connectivity and are constantly getting “Lost Connection to Server.  Reconnecting”

This is posing a big problem for us with our customer.  Everything seemed to be working fine but just three a few days back this started.  The irony is that it happened during the demo and we were unable to control it.

This error happens randomly – sometimes it is working fine other times it just keeps on giving the “Lost connection” errors.  We noticed that when the error starts - it particularly happens when we make the selections and press the search button.  I have checked the internet connectivity and it seems fine.  This happened a few times on the Server side also.

Will appreciate if someone can assist us with this as this is a real show stopper with the customer

Thanks.

Hi,

This could happen if you access Qlikview file with same ID's from two different machines.

Make sure you don't use same account to login from multiple place at the same time.

If so, the later will get connection to server by disconnecting current user and you see that error Lost Connection to Server.  Reconnecting”

Hi,

I'm also having the issue sometime. But what I figured out was the browser. If you are using IE, that work fine but issue starts only in Chrome.

So have you tried out changing the browser ?

Thanx

HI,

I don't think that will help in this case.

You can find change session timeout as shown in attached image.

It is by default set to 1800 seconds

have a look at attached image.

Have a read of this post:

Lost Connection in Server - Reconnecting - AJAX

We have similar issues when we also make selections and generate a chart that will bring back a lot of data. It seems this is a common problem looking at the number of posts on here. By applying a change to the "QvsTimeout" we were able to prevent the error message but the data was not returned to screen. By observing Task Manager we could see that the process was still running in the back ground (QVS memory utilisation was increasing). Re-submitting the request would usually return the results on the second or third attempt.

We've raised a case with Qlik. I suggest you do the same.
