Hi Qlikers -
One of my users is having a trouble seeing a google map on his computer. He had an older version (something prior to SR12) installed and because the map was not working, he decided to switch to SR12. The problem persist. When I open the same document on my computer it is showing me the maps and same is true for some of my other colleagues. Not entirely sure what is causing this issue, but is there anything like a cache or something that might be causing this issue? What are some things I can ask him to do in order for the map to work?
Although I would love to share a sample, but due to confidentiality, I won't be able to share my application and I think replicating it to create a sample might not work. I will, though, attach a screenshot which will show you what does the map looks like on his machine.
Any suggestions and/or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Sunny
Does anybody has any idea of what I might be able to do to fix this?
Thanks,
Sunny
I'm having a similar issue... I have a feeling it's security related (local firewall or something?)
hi sunny,
this might be cause! " is there anything like a cache or something that might be causing this issue? "
can u ask user to open google map directly from QlikView desktop or not?
thx
Are you using the Qlikview Extension for the map? if so please install the .qar file in his machine also
Is the computer connected to the internet? QlikView needs to be able to reach google for the map image.
Also make sure that the link in the working map is the same as the link in the non-working map. Sometimes google updates the link.
Also google has a Query limit. I wouldn't expect that he is running into it but depending on your networking it could be that as well.
Is this one of many users, and the other users can see the map?
If no users can see the map, you have to make sure that QlikVIew server has internet access ( if they are using Ajax).
Try adding http://maps.googleapis.com/ to the trusted or local intranet zone in your browser on the server.
