Hi,
I've just noticed that objects that are have a custom layer (or are just marked as top) that is higher than an another object,
shift back under objects taht are activated (or clicked on if you rather).
this is really bumming me out.
Is there a work around?
I really want that text box to be over every objects at all times when a variable is toggled (vGUIDE)...
You have a custom option to define layer level as well below the option buttons
Define the levels using a macro
ActiveDocument.GetSheetObject("CH01").SetLayer 100
Values could be between -127 to 128
Hi,
You can do it by alerting values in layout tab and define custom values less vales will go down and higher on top.Accordingly use 2 test objects and show them based on 1 variable either up and down using different layer custom values,if thr r multiple objects.Hope this helps.

Hi,
thank you for the attempt.
like I was saying, even with custom values as soon as an object is activated, it pops on top.
Not sure I want to go the vba route since this should not occur, or at least doesn't occur in a new document I start.
It might have something to do with the advanced styling mode I Have turned on.
Also, this only happens with the current selection box, not with a button object.
Try to set the Layer -> Custom to -5 or more for the object you want to move back.
I usually set the Custom Layer to 99 for the top object and -99 for the bottom, no confusion then.
Unfortunatly, this was the first thing I tried
That's how I thought I wrote the question also, but anyways.
yeah, text object is at 100, current selection box is at -100.
But it comes out on top when activated.
