Prevent multiple designers opening same qvw simultaneously

We sometimes have multiple designers needing access to the same qvw.

How can I lock the qvw so that only one person has read-write access to it at any one time? As with the default functionality for Excel and Word.

I am on Windows 7 is that makes any difference

that can be a bit of a problem - but at least you do have multiple designers 😉

We just have two for the entire company, so we can coordinate these things via telephone.

I guess you'll have to do the same - or you might use simple txt files in the directory where everyone logs the time when he/she opens an app for editing and the time when he/ she closes it - a bit messy, and no one must forget to do so, but one possibility.

Or, if you have a version_control_system (there are freeware ones I think) then one can "check out" a file - an app - and work on it and no one else can access it until he has "committed" it again.

There is no QlikView-internal way to do this afaIk

Or there might be a way using the "Govenance_Dashboard" - a QlikView_app itself - or other QV_tools to do it?
