QV 10 and QV 11

Hi all

We have recently upgraded to QV 11 and I noticed that when adding triggers/actions there are substantial differences between the tab External for QV 10 and QV 11.

QV 10

QV 11

Are the actions , for instance the Open URL or the Launce which were very useful for me in the past, not available any more? And what about the others?

Thanks

You should see more than these three actions (screenshot using version QV 11.20 SR11):

Not sure why you are only seeing a limited list, are you seeing this list also on a fresh installation?

Thanks for your reply.

I have noticed that if I create actions on a button the list is as you show.

If I create a trigger on a tab (sheet) the list is as the short list I posted above.

My QV is 11 SR12 64-bit

Can you please verify that the list is different from a Button object to a Sheet object?

Thanks again

Yes, for an OnActivate sheet trigger, I see the same reduced list of external actions.

Are you looking for a certain action that isn't available anymore?

So it is not just my application.

I have opened a case with support and they assigned it a Severity 3 meaning that there is a problem with that. (I am not sure which way the scale goes. Is 1 the most severe or 10? or 100?)

The expanded list is only available in Buttons and Text objects.

I used to have an action "Open in URL" in a field trigger that when a user selected a single Order Number, I would feed the value to the URL and open another application with an HTML command line. It was very helpful in navigating between applications.

Thanks Stefan

QV11 removed the Object level triggers. It looks like that also removed the Open URL action on a field trigger, perhaps as a consequence of the change, perhaps as an accident.

Assigning you a support case only acknowledges that you are experiencing a problem, not that Qlik agrees there is a defect to be fixed. I believe 1 is the highest priority.
