Hi All,
Anyone know how to configure the mail settings for using gmail smtp? I configure the mail server settings in User Preference -> Mail. I tried all the authentication method, but it doesn't work (no SSL or TLS option in the authentication method). This is for sending an Alert email.
Thanks bbt for the document, and emmanuelle.bustos for the important addendum. It would be good if the mention of the Distribution Service config could be added to the document and the original answer also. Would save a bit of scrolling down!
Steve
Wer would i get this information
0486055 Information Task Execute Duration=00:00:00.2502352
0486055 Information Sending Alert mail
2841418 Warning Failed to send mail to test@xxx.com
log of alert mail sending failed
That piece of information is from a TaskLog. Remember that under normal circumstances, you will configure the distribution service to send an alert mail whenever the reload of a document fails. Every reload under QDS (Distribution Service) control will generate a TaskLog in C:\ProgramData\QlikTechDistributionService\1\Log and it's in that TaskLog that you can find messages like this.
The test email you were trying to send in another discussion however generates log messags in the Management Service log file.
Best,
Peter
Gracias solucionado el problema.
Thank you solved the problem.
Hello Bill,
this solution works fine for a standalone Server with all QlikView services.
We currently have a problem with QlikView Cluster 12.1. QV Publisher should send emails per SMTP with SSL authentication. Management Console is installed separatelly. I enabled UseSSLForSMTP in QVManagementService.exe.config on QMC server and QVDistributionService.exe.config on QDS server.
With this configuration works SMTP authentication. But the Password will be sent unencrypted. We get an error from SMTP server
235 2.7.0 Authentication successful,
MAIL FROM:<sender@email.com
451 5.7.3 Must issue a STARTTLS command first,
May be you have an idea?
